To celebrate Black History Month, MGLA cadets will be studying about music of the Harlem Renaissance. We'll be studying about how history changed and influenced the sound of music. We'll be studying Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and many more.
Students are currently studying about Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Each grade is taking a different look at the ballet. The first graders and kindergartners are learning about ballet and acting out The Nutcracker as if they were dancers themselves. The 2nd graders are creating character portraits and the 3rd graders are making their own storybooks. Fourth grade is creating different storyboards for each scene; while the 5th and 6th graders are discovering candies around the world referenced in the Land of Sweets. Photos of their projects will be posted on the class pages once they are completed.
- MGLA students have now entered their second quarter!
Check out specifically what your child will be doing this quarter under his or her own grade page.
